Frequently Asked Questions
Why Hire a Pet
Sitter?
A Pet Sitter offers both
you and your pet many benefits. You can leave and know that not only will your
pets be well taken care of, but they will be spoiled while you are away. Not
only is your pet looked after but your home is as well, this combination makes
traveling much less stressful. More importantly, your pets stay in their own
familiar environment, walk their normal routes and play with their own toys.
How do we establish
service?
Simply give us a call and we will set up a meeting so we can get acquainted with
you and your pets. There is no charge for this visit. At this time we like to
pick up the key, sign a contract, and vet release. It's best to call at least a
week before you need us the first time and a month in advance before a
major holiday.
How long are the visits?
Most
visits are about 40-60 minutes. We might stay a little less time for a shy cat
who is waiting for us to leave, before coming out to eat. Conversely, if
something happens that requires extra attention, we may be there a bit longer
than usual.
Do you have extra fees for Holidays?
No. We understand that many people travel on holidays and this is part of our
service.
Rather than charge an extra fee
on major holidays, we usually limit the number of pets to care for so that we
may have some time with our families. We suggest making a reservation well in
advance of major holidays or spring break.
Do you have an extra fee for returning
keys?
We
will pick up a key from you at our free informational visit. There is a $5
key charge if we need to make a special trip to pickup a key. Most customers choose to keep a key in our secure key safe for future
service. This makes going away even easier, just call and give us dates and
times to visit and any updated information with your pets and that's it. We
will pick up and return the key the first time you use our service if you
prefer. For future service dates, you have the option of having us keep a key
on file, bringing it to our office, or mailing it to us. We must have received
your key prior to your leaving. With everyone's busy
schedules, key exchanges are difficult to coordinate, and our priority is with
the pets currently in our care.
How is payment handled?
On our last visit we will leave an invoice along with a summary of how your pets
did while you were away. We guarantee 100% satisfaction so you do not have to
pay until the service is complete. Daily Dog Walking customers are expected to
pay weekly on the last day a walk is performed.
